Recently, Mr. Silva, a senior tilapia farmer and head of the renowned local Sri Lankan fishery cooperative Blue Wave Fishery Co-op, visited Henan Mufeng Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. The inspection focused on the 3-5t/h high-efficiency energy-saving customized complete animal feed production line (primarily targeting tilapia and white-leg shrimp high-protein extruded feed suitable for local Sri Lankan aquaculture). Mr. Silva highly recognized Mufeng Intelligent’s technological innovation, manufacturing process, project implementation capability, and the stable performance of its Henan-based demonstration plant. He clearly expressed procurement intent, and both parties have entered a phase of in-depth negotiation on equipment configuration, quotation, and contract details, with the possibility of signing a formal order in the near future.
Accompanied by Danny, Production Director of Mufeng Intelligent, Mr. Silva first toured the intelligent metal processing center, automatic welding workshop, precision casting laboratory for core components, and material-feeding test area of Henan Mufeng Intelligent’s manufacturing base. In the metal processing center, a German imported five-axis linkage machining center was processing customized screw sleeves with a precision of ±0.08mm; in the automatic welding workshop, Italian laser tracking welding robots collaborated to ensure the quality and efficiency of core equipment; in the material-feeding test area, a newly off-line 3t/h aquatic extruded feed production line was being debugged. Using a local Henan formula of high-quality corn, soybean meal, and Peruvian imported fish meal (simulating Sri Lanka’s commonly used mixed recipe with palm kernel meal and coconut meal replacing part of soybean meal by adding 20% wheat bran), the processed tilapia fry extruded feed had uniform particles and excellent floating performance (remaining intact for over 14 hours in water), fully meeting the quality requirements for Mr. Silva’s export to high-end markets such as the EU and Southeast Asia.
“Previously, I learned about the adaptability of the gradual-pitch single-screw technology to unconventional raw materials through your English technical manual. The digestion rate test results of today’s test using our local ingredient substitute simulation formula exceeded expectations. Relying on Henan’s advantages as a national grain production base, your equipment has strong competitiveness in terms of cost performance and post-maintenance costs,” Mr. Silva told Director Danny on-site.
Subsequently, Mr. Silva drove to the 5t/h tilapia extruded feed demonstration plant invested and operated by Henan Mufeng Intelligent locally. Since its commissioning, the plant has maintained a stable daily production capacity of 45-48 tons, with a product qualification rate of 99.9%. The survival rate of tilapia raised with this feed increased by 18%-22% compared to traditional pellet feed, and the feed conversion ratio dropped below 1.25:1, making it a major feed supplier for surrounding farmers.
“In Sri Lanka, our cooperative has 800 acres of tilapia and 300 acres of white-leg shrimp aquaculture bases, and we have long faced problems such as high imported feed costs (accounting for 75% of total costs), insufficient production capacity of local small factories, and large quality fluctuations. Seeing the ‘cloud monitoring + remote operation and maintenance’ system of your Henan demonstration plant (real-time data monitoring via mobile app, with a fault response time of less than 2 hours) and the simple and efficient operation process during this visit has filled me with confidence in the prospect of building our own feed factory in Sri Lanka,” Mr. Silva added.
In the subsequent closed-door meeting, Mr. Silva had a nearly 2.5-hour discussion with Aiden, International Trade Department Manager of Mufeng Intelligent, Production Director Danny, and a professional translator. Manager Aiden detailed the customized 3-5t/h solution for the Sri Lankan market: adopting “front-end coarse crushing + middle-end ultra-fine grinding + back-end low-temperature post-coating” technology, equipped with independently developed gradual-pitch single-screw, shear pin overload protection, and intelligent temperature control system, the solution can effectively improve the digestibility of palm kernel meal and coconut meal (expected to increase by 10%-15%), and also reserves interfaces for low-temperature post-coating of astaxanthin and fish oil to meet the needs of high-end white-leg shrimp feed.
After production capacity calculation, Mr. Silva recognized the investment payback period (19-21 months), energy consumption (≤145kWh/t), and environmental protection indicators (complying with EU CE certification) of the solution. Both parties also reached a preliminary consensus on equipment transportation (sea freight to Colombo Port, arriving in 45 days), installation and commissioning (2 technicians dispatched to the site, completed in 30 days), personnel training (training 5 operation and maintenance personnel at the Henan base for 15 days), and after-sales service (1-year free warranty, lifetime technical support, with a service station in Colombo).
