Customer Background and Project Requirements

The Ghanaian customer is a local feed producer focusing on aquaculture feed for tilapia and catfish, as well as pellet feed for poultry and livestock. With the rapid development of aquaculture and animal farming in Ghana, the customer planned to build a compact but efficient feed mill capable of producing both floating fish feed and conventional pellet feed.

Key requirements from the customer included:

Stable production capacity for small and medium-scale feed factories

High-quality floating fish feed with good water stability

Reliable pellet feed production for livestock and poultry

Low energy consumption and easy operation

On-site installation, commissioning, and technical training

Based on these needs, Mufeng provided a customized turnkey feed production solution.

Project Configuration and Equipment Overview

The completed project includes two independent but complementary production lines:

1. 500 kg/h Floating Fish Feed Production Line

Raw material crushing system

Accurate batching and mixing system

Fish feed extruder machine for floating feed

Multi-layer drying system

Cooling and screening system

This line is designed to produce high-quality floating fish feed suitable for tilapia, catfish, and other freshwater fish species, with excellent pellet expansion and stability.

2. 2 t/h Pellet Feed Production Line

Hammer mill and mixing system

Pellet mill for animal feed

Counterflow cooler

Pellet screening system

The pellet feed line supports the production of poultry and livestock feed, improving the customer’s product diversity and market competitiveness.

Installation, Commissioning, and Training

Mufeng’s experienced engineering team provided on-site installation guidance and commissioning services in Ghana. After mechanical installation and electrical system setup, both production lines underwent full-load testing.

During the commissioning phase:

All machines operated smoothly and stably

Production capacity met the designed output

Finished feed pellets met quality and size requirements

In addition, Mufeng engineers provided operator training, covering daily operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to ensure long-term stable production.

Project Results and Customer Feedback

After successful commissioning, both the fish feed extrusion line and pellet feed production line entered normal operation. The customer expressed high satisfaction with:

Equipment performance and stability

Feed quality consistency

Professional technical support and service

Clear operation and maintenance guidance

This project has significantly enhanced the customer’s local feed production capacity and reduced dependence on imported feed.

How to Establish a Standardized Production Management System in a Feed Mill?
2026-08-07
The core of establishing a standardized production management system for a feed mill lies in shifting from experience-based to standard-based operations. By locking process parameters at each stage, setting up key inspection points, implementing scheduled patrols, establishing a closed-loop mechanism for problem rectification, and perfecting record management, the system eliminates arbitrariness and chaos in production. This effectively reduces rework rates and losses, thereby ensuring consistent quality and clear accountability.
How to Systematically Identify Potential “Nodes” for Root Cause Analysis When Facing Market Complaints About Excessive Pellet Powder?
2026-08-25
To systematically address market complaints regarding excessive pellet powder, a process analysis is essential, focusing on ten key nodes: the pellet mill observation port, pellet mill discharge port, rotary grading screen inlet, finished product bin inlet, pelleting floor screen inlet, packing port, palletizing area, loading area, customer storage area, and animal feeding end feed trough. By observing these specific points, operators can diagnose root causes ranging from upstream issues like pulverization particle size, mixing uniformity, and steam conditioning to downstream factors such as equipment wear, screening capacity, buffer settings, and handling procedures. This comprehensive inspection allows for the identification of interactions between variables—such as improper die compression, cooling inefficiencies, or physical impact during transport—enabling targeted adjustments to equipment parameters, operational workflows, and maintenance schedules to effectively reduce powder generation throughout the entire production and supply chain.
A Brief Discussion On The Dust Generating Points In Feed Processing Workshops?
2026-04-07
The dust problem in the feed processing process is the focus of the safety production and environmental protection work of the feed factory. And it is understood that when the feed factory produces and processes raw materials, different amounts of dust will be generated in different processes, such as material transportation, mixing, crushing, screening, packaging and other production links. Today, the editor will share with you the dust generation points in the feed processing workshop.
